"Budle Hall. Built in 1810 for a Mr Grieve Smith; the architect is unknown. The stone is a delicate pink ashlar. The house is square, five by five bays, with a Roman Doric porch and large two-storey bow windows on each side elevation. Inside, among much well-designed early C19 detail, a spacious staircase hall with a glazed dome and a cantilevered stair with lyre-pattern iron balusters.”
